Bi-Directional Amplifiers (BDA) or Dual Antenna Systems

Florida law requires that high-rises, apartments, and any other buildings that are several stories high must contain a bi-directional amplifier (BDA). The reason is that emergency services cannot communicate in these buildings without amplifiers, potentially putting civilians at risk.

All buildings that fit this description must have a survey conducted to learn whether a BDA system is required. That’s where we come in. We’ll survey your building to ensure you’re up to code. If not, we’ll also install and maintain the system for you.

All high-rise and apartment complexes must have run a Radio Frequency Signal Strength test no later than December 31st, 2019. If you already have a BDA system and its coverage isn’t up to code, you have until January 1st, 2022, to install a new one. For apartments, you have until December 31st, 2022, to apply for a permit and January 1st, 2025, to install the system.
