Tips To Buying The Right Fire & Security System

It’s buyer-beware when it comes to purchasing security systems.  If you’re not careful, you may not get a high-quality system and waste hundreds of dollars. Do you want that added peace-of-mind when you go to bed at night?  Why sleep with one eye open and be locked into a legal contract for years and years to come when you can purchase a quality system with confidence and know your family and your property are safe?

Try to avoid the cheap security systems. If you buy a product on line and have it shipped to you for installation, how can you be sure it’s the best system for your family? Don’t let smooth television ads sway your purchase.

If you install it yourself, will you feel secure? Not everyone is a jack of all trades. Even if you are, do you understand the complexities of a security system?   The system must be UL listed, tested and approved to receive the UL seal of approval. It should also be installed by a licensed contractor.

If you install your own system or you hire the cheapest company to install it, and your system begins beeping all night and you’re losing sleep over it, what next? Or worse yet, a burglar breaks in and your alarm doesn’t go off!  Suddenly 911 is your security system and it can take 10-15 minutes for them to arrive. The next day, you call for “service” that was supposed to be provided to you. They promise to send someone out in a “few days”, or possibly in a couple of weeks? Yes, it happens. That’s not security, that’s scary!

Independent security companies must be licensed and insured. They hire professionally trained, licensed contractors to install their product. It may cost more but never let price make the decision for you.  Look for quality, guaranteed service, and reliability. Remember, you get what you pay for. Your homeowner’s insurance will require a UL listed, properly installed system to give you a reduced rate.

Our company installs UL approved systems that have been proven to be superior to other systems. And once installed, we hope you never need us again, but if you do, we’ve got you covered.
